Recipe: Baked Honey Teriyaki Wings:

Growing up in the South and being a football lover from birth means that heading to a Sports Bar with friends to watch the game, ordering a basket of wings, and a pitcher of beer, equals heaven on earth!

The only thing about that is... I can no longer have beer (unless it is a fancy Gluten Free beer... which I'm not complaining), and I can no longer order wings from a restaurant due to cross-contamination (because yes, wings are technically Gluten Free until you add sauces or even bread them). With that being said, making them at home is the only way to go!

I have actually never made chicken wings before, but when I saw this recipe posted on Pinterest I just knew I had to try it! And what better time to make wings then for the Super Bowl!

Baked Honey Teriyaki Wings:

Ingredients:
3-4 pounds chicken wings
1 tablespoon corn starch
1 1/3 cups soy sauce
1/3 cup Mirin rice cooking wine (I substituted for Sherry Cooking Wine and added a pinch of sugar and it worked out perfectly)
1/2 cup honey
1 tablespoon water
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon ground ginger
2-3 tablespoons Sriracha (I only used 1 tablespoon)

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Lightly oil a 9x13 baking dish or coat with nonstick spray.

In a small bowl, whisk together corn starch and water.
In a large bowl, whisk together soy sauce, cooking wine, honey, garlic, ginger, Sriracha.
Add corn starch mixture to the large bowl and mix.

Arrange wings in a single layer onto prepared baking dish.
Pour the sauce evenly over the wings.

Place into oven and bake for 45-50 minutes, turning half way through.
Then broil for just a couple of minutes until wings are slightly charred.
Let cool, serve, and enjoy!

These wings turned out amazing and I will definitely be making them again!
Charli even enjoyed her very first chicken wing for the Super Bowl! :)

Happy Monday and Happy Cooking!
