Let me first start by saying... Thank you to everyone who has been saying extra prayers for us, they are truly working! We have made it another week!!
I have decided to keep track now every other week instead of every 5 seeings how every appointment now is super important for us. So before I get into my list of things I want to give a quick update. We had an appointment this morning with a small ultrasound and got to see our little big guy (we clearly make giant children) ;), and it was a great appointment with a lot of great news!
With the steroids in my system, my Crohn's is under control for the time being which is awesome. My flare has subsided tremendously and is now manageable for me.
I am still only 1-2cm dilated and cervix the same, so nothing has changed or progressed any which is great news! My Doctor has also lifted some restrictions of my modified bed rest and said I can start getting out of the house more, running errands, and doing things, but to literally time how long I am on my feet because he still doesn't want me standing or walking for more than 30 minutes.
My Doctor feels confident right now that we can make it another 4-5 weeks and then induce but obviously there is still a side of caution and they will continue to watch me.
How Far Along: 32 Weeks (8 months)
Size of Baby: Our big guy is weighing in at right over 4LBS (about a pound bigger than average). One thing Doctors are concerned about with women who have Crohn's Disease and are pregnant is the size of the baby. Most babies tend to be small or premie because of the disease. For whatever reason (and I will be forever grateful) is that is something we have not had to worry about. Both Charli and now her brother have been measuring in the 90th percent for growth which is incredible.
Weight Gain: Put back on the pound that I lost, so up 10-11 LBS I believe!! So I may not put on a ton of weight during pregnancy, but thankfully our babies do!
Maternity Clothes: Yes and no. Still just wearing dresses or maternity shorts and tanks. It is too hot for anything else!
Sleep: Once I'm asleep it is great, but falling to sleep has been more challenging lately. Our little fella has no room already and it is getting so hard to breathe. It seems I can never catch my breath. There is a lot of tossing, turning, pillow stealing, and heavy breathing until I can finally fall asleep.
Movement: Baby boy is all over... flipping, kicking, punching, somersaults, hiccups, you name it he's done it. And yes, it hurts... a lot! But it is by far my favorite thing to feel!
Any Pains: Still a lot of pressure and pain on my cervix, my back is still killing me (but with getting massages every couple of weeks I have been feeling great), and I experienced my first Braxton Hicks or Contraction which was incredibly painful (I never had any of that with Charli until I was in the hospital with my epidural) so it was all new for me.
Food Cravings: Still a day by day thing... Constantly changes, but I am still loving my popsicles, milk, fruit (right now I'm on a peaches kick), and of course chocolate or sweets! :)
What I Miss: Being able to breath!
What I am looking forward to: A wonderful festive and fun Forth of July weekend and actually being able to get out of the house to have fun and enjoy it!!
So good to hear all the good news. I'm at 1cm as well so my doc thinks baby girl will stay put until around her due date!
