Weekend Update: A Drill Weekend full of Migraines:

Friday was just not a good day...

I had been sick all week, and slowly started to feel a little better on Friday morning...
Until I stared to feel sick again... UGH! Needless to say Friday just wasn't a good day, but thankfully I have an awesome hubby who rocked dinner on Friday evening and it was just what we needed to end a not so good day!

Saturday morning, Steven was up bright and early for Drill as I tossed and turned in tears asking for Tylenol and water...

I was diagnosed with Severe Migraines with Ora's about 6-7 years ago and struggle with them often, but the past 6-7 months my Migraines have started coming back a lot more frequently (up to 3-4 times a week) and they cause me to get very sick and throwing up. I have been seen by a couple of Neurologists, and was just seen a couple of weeks ago and have another appointment scheduled... We will see what they say.
So back to Saturday...

Steven ran me up some water and Tylenol before he had to run out the door for work. I will try and spare you all of the details of what was quite possibly the WORST Saturday I have ever had. After finally pealing myself out of bed, I dragged myself downstairs to get Charli's breakfast, not remembering if I actually let the dogs out, fed Charli, and layed with my eyes closed on the couch. Oh and the best part the Migraine caused me to  throw up literally 50 times (probably more than that to be honest). Did I mention it was the WORST Saturday ever?

I am incredibly thankful that Steven was able to come home for lunch so he could take care of Charli and feed her and put her down for a nap, because I literally could not move it was that bad. Let me also say how incredibly thankful I am for my little Saint of a child... She 100% sensed that Mommy was so sick and she was seriously the best little girl. She sat quietly right next to me all morning (rubbing my leg occasionally saying "ummmm mama?"), watching her cartoons so I could lay there with my eyes closed in the dark. Thank you sweet girl, Mommy loves you!

It may have been the worst Saturday ever, but it reminded me of the people I have in my life that truly love and take care of me every single day! Thank you honey for all that you do for our family and for me! I love you!

So with all of that, we had to cancel our plans with some friends Saturday evening, and it was straight to bed for this household.

Sunday morning, Steven was back at work and thankfully I woke up feeling much better (Hallelujah!)
I didn't want to over do it though, so we spent most of our day indoors, except for running around and playing outside for a bit before lunch and nap!

After Steven got home from work we were able to make it out to our friends house for dinner and football! It was a perfect evening and I am so happy we could finally make it!
Especially since Kelly made this decadent dessert...

Ummmmm YUM! Maple Baked apples with Vanilla ice cream!
(Don't worry, I will be making these soon and the recipe will be on the blog!)

Perfect end to our Sunday right?
Ohhhhhhh wait.... As we were driving home, ANOTHER Migraine onset
(Oh. My. Good. Lord... Can I catch a break? Please?)

My Migraine was so bad by the time we got home that I had to run upstairs, threw up a few times, took Tylenol and had to lay down.
UGH!
Definitely not how I wanted to end our Sunday, but it is what it is.

This morning was I feeling back to normal again, and since it was a Drill Weekend, Steven had today off! We decided to get out of the house and get some fresh air, so we headed to the County Park so Charli could run around and play!

It was a perfect day spent with my family!

Now I am snuggled up next to my handsome man, eating popcorn, drinking wine, and watching the Bachelor!

Perfect end to what was not a perfect weekend at all!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!
Happy Monday!

  1. Ugh :-( Hope you figure out the cause of the migraines and a way to help ease the pain and symptoms. Charli is getting so big! Looks like her hair is getting darker. Miss you guys!

  3. Ugh I hate that you were sick! :( How are you feeling this week? Are the migraines associated at all with the Crohn's? I've only had 3 migraines in my life and they are the worst things ever! That dessert looks delish! Hope this week and weekend you feel better and that the doctors figure out a solution soon! Hugs!

    1. Thank you so much! I have been feeling much better and haven't had another onset of one in a week (knock on wood)! ;) And no, they don't think it is linked to the Crohn's, just something else to add on! haha!

  4. I'm so sorry to hear about your migraines! That is just awful that they make you so sick. Thankfully, you had your husband and Charli, your little caretaker. Isn't it amazing how children know when you're sick? I hope you're enjoying this weekend much better.
