Newport Things: Polo:

Happy June Everyone!
I seriously can't believe it is already here and we are officially in "moving month"!

We had a really great weekend that was every bit of fun and busy, yet enjoyable and relaxing and we were able to mark some things off of our little Newport Bucket List since our move is in the very near future!

One thing I knew I wanted to do before we even moved to Newport was go to a Polo Match. With Polo season just starting and our weekends being completely packed because of moving very soon, I was afraid we were going to miss out on a definite "bucket list" item for us. Thankfully Saturday was their first match and we had decided to cancel our plans of going to the Rhode Island Air Show (we will have plenty of opportunities to see the Blue Angels back in Jax) and instead headed to the Polo Match!

Best. Decision. Ever.
With us only having two more weekends left here in Newport, getting in quality time with our friends (old and new) is a priority for us. So being able to spend the afternoon with the friends who could make it out was truly wonderful, not to mention the weather was absolutely beautiful (super windy) but beautiful!

At Half-Time we all partook in what is known as the longest standing tradition of Polo...
Divot Stomping...

It was a favorite for sure!

We seriously had an amazing evening watching the ponies play!

I think it's safe to say we all enjoyed our very first Polo Match and are trying to figure out how we can squeeze another one in before we move! ;) So thank you Newport Polo Club for not disappointing and adding to yet another amazing event filled with many memories for my family!

I hope everyone had an awesome weekend!
Happy Monday!

  1. What a fun weekend!! I've never been to a Polo match before, but this looks awesome. Your picnic basket is also the cutest thing ever :)

  2. Does Steven get annoyed that you want to take family pictures at everything? Derek would kill me if I was always wanting family pictures at every event and I wish he would just let me do it! :)

    1. Haha! I can honestly say he doesn't! He knows that it is something that I love and he sees how happy it makes me so he oblige's! Even bigger props is that he sometimes throws my tripod in the car if we are going somewhere and he knows he won't be with anybody (all because he knows I'm going to want a picture)! Haha!
