Spooktacular at The Jacksonville Zoo:

Every October the Jacksonville Zoo puts on an event the last couple of weekends leading up to Halloween called Spooktacular (like a Boo at the Zoo). This is something I grew up going to with my mom, brother, and friends and it is something I always wanted to be able to take my children to and this my friends was the year!

Charli had a little Fall Break this past weekend (off Friday and Monday) and though we didn't go anywhere for it we still managed to do some fun and festive things! We watched special Halloween movies, did all things pumpkin, and the main event... Spooktacular! So on Saturday night my mom, friend, and I packed the kids up and we headed to the Zoo.

They have so many different attractions and things set up. From the Wizard of Oz area, to Charlie Brown's Great Pumpkin, Peter Pan, Witches, Scare Zones, and so much more. We saw everything there was to see and a certain little girl even got to ride the Carousel!

Though Charli is very outgoing and always center of attention, she is still a very reserved and cautious child and I love that about her. She wanted nothing to do with any of the characters that were dressed up taking pictures with every other kid. Her response every single time after I asked if she wanted a picture with someone "uhhhhh no thanks" as she would wave and continue on. Some were a little creepy but some I thought for sure she would love. Nope. The only one she RAN up to was Snow White. That girl and her princesses!

Thank you Spooktacular for continuing to create memories for my family!

  1. It looks like you had a great time at the zoo too! What a fun time for all. I'm jealous. You had princesses at your zoo :) (We didn't have any at the Roger Williams Zoo.)
