The Potty Post: 2.0:

Potty Training round two has gone much differently than The First Time. We were honestly extremely blessed with Charli. We carved out one weekend with her, focused all of our time and energy and from that very moment that she went on the potty she never looked back. You could literally see the light bulb go off above her head. She never wore a single pull-up, no accidents, never wet her bed, and to this day is still amazing.

Every child is different though. We have heard the phrase "potty training boys is much harder or different than girls." I think it is just each individual child and when they are truly ready. Potty training our babies has never been this huge priority for us. It was something we never wanted to push them in to doing too early and wanting to make sure they were old enough and aware. I think too many people try and teach their kids at too young of an age. Children will learn when they are ready and we have always waited for our babies to give us those signs.

Crew gave us those signs back in November last year. He was just over 2 {same exact age that Charli learned and was interested}. He wanted to go potty on the potty like sissy.

We took those signs and did a more gradual approach with Crew. We would put him on the potty if he told us but it wasn't every single time. We did this for a couple of months and then finally come February he was wearing underwear, waking up dry, not having accidents, all big changes for our little guy! We could officially say he was "potty trained" and he was doing so well!

The difference with Crew has been that he will still have a random accident here or there if he is playing and forgets to run to the bathroom. Other than that he is still doing amazing and waking up dry {which if you know Crew, I thought this would NEVER happen! haha!}

Keep it up bubba!! We love you and are so proud of you!

Catching Moments: {19/52}:

*Charli has finally {for the third year now} started to get more comfortable with the water again {only when she knows she can touch that is}. Seriously, only me, who was a swimmer my entire life would have children terrified of learning to swim {sigh}. Any who, we continue to tell her how proud we are each and every chance we get and she continues to take little steps that builds her confidence. She officially LOVES jumping off the side of the pool now, just not to daddy or anyone and she now LOVES swimming back and forth to you from the wall. Keep it up baby girl, we are so proud of you!

*"The tans will fade, but the memories will last forever"
Getting out of the house for the first time yesterday and taking the kids to the beach was just what the doctor ordered. Breathing in the fresh salt air was truly good for my soul. And even more so, watching my babies have the best time. They have been such troopers this past almost 7 weeks. I loved watching them run around and splash in the tide pools. These truly are the days!

Catching Moments: {18/52}:

*"Wonder is the beginning of Wisdom" -Socrates
His little fingers grabbing each leaf, saying "Mommy, look"! There is nothing I love more than watching our babies concentrate on something so intently, watching their minds work. Crew was mesmerized in the "bamboo forest" and I was mesmerized with that light coming through!

*"The most important shot in golf is the next one" - Arnold Palmer
Charli has always been drawn to golf. She thoroughly enjoys watching it in person and on TV with us. Daddy has finally had some extra time with us recently {and since we finally splurged on legit golf clubs for both kids for Christmas} he has been taking her golfing almost every day these past two weeks. He took her in one day for a quick lesson and the Golf Pro literally said "she is a natural and if I were you I would really stick with it". She is working on her stance, grip, and making contact and we couldn't be more proud of her and her love for the game!

Life Lately: Through my Lens:

I realized I had a ton of pictures I haven't shared and thought another series of my Life Lately was in order. It has been hard to find the time these past 6 months to be able to sit, write, and share everything like I normally do. I am at a different Doctors appointment 4 times a week, including upwards to 10 CT Scans, multiple ultrasounds, and 4 MRI's that I have had just since February. So yeah, I have just been exhausted, and when I am home, I am either resting or spending every second I can with my family. It definitely doesn't mean my camera has been put away, no sir, that would just be silly!

So by golly, here is a snapshot of our life lately over the past 3-4 months!
Enjoy.
