Charli had her Kindergarten Open House a couple of weeks ago and both Steven and I were able to attend which was a huge surprise and something Charli was very happy about. Having Daddy able to be a part of things is always so special because it is very rare. We absolutely love Charli's teacher and were so excited to go in to her classroom and see the things she has been doing and learn about her day-to-day life as a Kindergartner!
Mrs. K walked up to us and couldn't stop saying how much of a joy Charli is to teach. That she is such an excellent student, rule follower, leader, and goes above and beyond inside the classroom and out. It is everything every parent wants to hear about their child. We are so incredibly blessed with such an amazing little girl who truly makes us proud every single day.
Steven and I have said from early on that Charli was "meant for school", meaning she has always enjoyed learning, reading, and being challenged with things. Sure enough, we were right. I love talking with her about her days and learning about all of her "BFF's" {yes people, she says "BFF" haha}, but more importantly I love hearing from her teacher that she is doing everything she is supposed to and that she loves it!
After listening to the teacher for a little while we were able to walk around the room and look at all of the things our baby has been working on. Charli was so excited to take our hands and show us all of her things with a huge proud smile on her face! My favorite was her Family Tree. As she walked us over to show us, she pointed to each one of us and said "that's you" and then the proudest moment of all was when she pointed to the drawing of a person at the very bottom of her tree and said "and mommy & daddy, that's Jesus. Because he is in the center of our family". {Steven said he actually looked at the other family tree's just to see if anyone else did it and if maybe that was what made her want to do it and Charli was the only one}. You guys, I can't tell you how proud we were of her. We are clearly doing something right and I hope she always remembers that HE is right in the center of our family!
The week after Charli's Open House we had our first Parent Teacher Conference. I cannot tell you how proud and happy we are with Charli.
Some things her teacher said:
"Charli is my leader & mentor in class"
"Charli gets along and plays with every child in our class. She is such a social little girl"
"Charli is very bright"
"I have no concerns with her, she will go very far. She is smart, beautiful, and kind"
Charli Adele, keep shining bright baby girl!
Mommy & Daddy are so proud of everything you are doing!
