I know it's November and I am just getting around to posting about Halloween {But, life. I still have to recap our September in Newport too, haha!}.
But like I always say, better late than never right?! ;)
Halloween this year was just a super great one. The kids are finally at an age where they can run up to houses with their little friends to trick-or-treat, while I stand street side watching, making sure they are say "thank you" and "happy halloween". It truly was such a magical night watching them have so much fun with their friends and we were even happier that Nana got to join in the festivities with us.
Charli was pretty adamant about being a cowgirl this year {which honestly I found completely random, but hey, we went with it}. We decided on a "Cowboys & Indians" theme and both Charli & Crew were super pumped about it...until... Crew actually had to WEAR the costume AND the headdress. He said it was too furry and he didn't like it and he just wanted to be "Crew".
Thankfully after talking with him for an entire week about not getting to go trick-or-treating if he wasn't dressed up, rubbed off. He obliged and wore his costume {#momwin}. I mean look at him though, the cutest Chief there ever was!
Charli was so happy with her Cowgirl costume I put together and was yelling "yee haw" the rest of the night!
Our night of trick-or-treating started with a couple of block parties with some of our friends and ended with lots of giggling, big smiles, full buckets, happy hearts, and super late bedtimes!
All the good things that every holiday should have, right?!
The week leading up to Halloween was full of family fun. We had Charli's School Fall Ball, an adult Halloween Party & of course pumpkin patching! I was so happy that everything fell when it did because Steven was able to be a part of it. We found out with extremely short notice that he would be leaving a few short days later and would be missing the Holiday with us. Needless to say, it made everything we did that week even more special.

{if you haven't seen this SNL skit, you need to!}
Charli's school Fall Ball, they dress in costumes and she chose to be Cinderella!
Book Character Parade Day: Charli chose Bear from Bear's Loose Tooth!!
{and how appropriate since she had just lost her First Tooth}
Halloween Eve we have traditions that we love to keep! Baking pumpkin bread, carving pumpkins, baking pumpkin seeds, and watching It"s The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown. It was the perfect afternoon & evening with our babes as we looked forward to the next night of trick-or-treating!
{Crew even had a Halloween play date where he got to dress in costume... Last minute, morning of, throwing together something and I came out with the cutest Clark Kent! Who by the way won a local Halloween Costume Contest! haha}
We missed Daddy so much but I continued to try and make this time as special as I could for them. It's what I do!
{Halloween School lunches!}
I hope everyone has a Happy Wednesday!
